Looking back it's gone so fast. I left Ohio in 1970 after teaching two years at Bedford High. When I arrived in Orange County, California, I joined a CPA firm in Santa Ana and continued with "offshoot" firms until 1980 when I became certified as a CPA. At that time I went into private industry as assistant controller and controller for manufacturing companies, starting with a Saudi Arabian owned company in Fullerton, transferring to a flexible air duct manufacturer in Fresno, continuing onto a solar energy company in Corcoran, California, and then transferred to Grumman Electronics in Salisbury, Maryland. Since '92 I've done a multitude of independent work, ending back in education, but at the junior college and university levels. Right now I teach management and economics at the junior college and accounting at the university. I'm one of those who will probably work until I'm 70.

Most of my family remains in the Cleveland-Akron area, but the Calafiura's have spread throughout the U.S. If you ever meet up with one, they are related.

I'm eager to get to the reunion to see everyone. I pulled the yearbook out and the memory book from the last reunion. At the same time I read what each wrote on the website, looked up each one who plans to attend, and sadly and respectfully remembered those who are no longer with us.

It'll be grand to see those who I went to school with way back when -- kindergarten, first grade....senior year. Oh, yes, the grocery store turned into a Chinese restaurant and is now an insurance agency.
